The Green Garden Family Houseboat

Imagine a spacious floating home with a huge split level garden in Amsterdam, perfectly equipped for your next family holiday. Add free bikes and two canoes, good public transport connection to the rest of town and a variety of lovely bars and restaurants within walking distance. Got it? Well, that is our houseboat and we love to share it with you while we are sailing the world this summer. We warmly welcome you!

Our houseboat is a dream come true, located in the wonderful Eastern part of Amsterdam with various cool things to do and see in close range. Think of the Artis Zoo, The famous Dappermarket (daily market), Oosterpark (wonderful city park), the Eastern Docks with great architecture and the local brewery 't IJ with its iconic windmill. All within 5 - 10 minutes distance!

The houseboat has a master bedroom with a high-end Kingsize double bed and water views. No better place to wake up, the sun shining bright into your room as soon as you open the curtains. 'What a way to start the day', that is actually still what we think every morning, after all those years we are living here.

The large living room can be transformed into a great bedroom for the kids. We can accommodate up to three children: 2 sleeping on the sleeping couch and one on a comfortable folding bed. On request we can arrange a baby cot if you are visiting Amsterdam with a baby or toddler. This space can be shut of at night so the kids sleep at ease while you enjoy the evening in the garden or large open kitchen. This space has a nice view on both the canal as well as the garden.

Between the Living room/kids bedroom you will find the bathroom with large bath, shower and sink, as well as the washing machine and dryer. This is also where the toilet is located, so you don't have to go through the kids bedroom when you want to use the bathroom when you're wining and dining in the open kitchen or garden at night.

Our favorite space aboard is without a doubt the large open 'living kitchen' - a spacious area with a large dining table and all the amenities you need to prepare a great meal. We love cooking ourselves, so you can be assured that the kitchen is well equipped. The table in the kitchen has six comfortable chairs and on request we can arrange a highchair as well. From the kitchen you have wonderful water views over the canal. Now you understand why we love this place so much!

And now it is time to enjoy the great outdoors! Just take one step outside the boat and you enter the abundant Green Garden - our pride and joy. In the garden we also have a nice little pond to enjoy. Especially during the summer it is truly amazing to be in the garden with your beloved ones, having a BBQ, wining and dining all night long. Just perfect!

On request we have three free bikes available. At short distance there is a bike rental as well.

The check-in standard is set to flexible. Please note that if we have guests checking out on the day of your arrival, your guaranteed check-in time is 15:00/3PM. Thank you for your understanding.

GENERAL HOUSE RULES

Below you’ll find some general house rules and instructions. Please read them carefully and enjoy your stay.

Not allowed:
- Extra guests
- Smoking anywhere inside the building
- House parties, drugs and/or loud music

Garbage:
- Please take the garbage out only on trash pickup days or dump it in a container outside. More information about when to take out the garbage can by found in the information book in the house.

Keys:
- Please be careful with the keys. If you lose a set, we may have to charge you the costs for replacing the locks.
- Never leave the key inside the lock on the inside of the door when you leave the house. If that happens, the door can’t be opened from the outside and we have to call a locksmith.
- If you lock yourself out, any potential costs for the locksmith will be charged to you.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Check-in:
- The check-in time is set to flexible. Please note that if we have guests checking out on the day of your arrival, your guaranteed check-in time is 15:00/3PM. Thank you for your understanding.

Late check-in:
- If you wish to check-in to the apartment between 21:00/9PM and 08:00/8AM, this is possible. Due to the late hour we do charge an extra fee of 25 euro’s between 21:00/9PM & 00:00 or 50 euro’s between 00:00 & 08:00/8AM. Please pay the extra fee (in cash) to your host when you arrive. Thank you for your understanding.

Check-out:
- The latest possible check-out option is at 11:00/11AM. 
- Please make sure to check-out at (or before) the agreed check-out time that you have provided us.
- In case you are delayed and the cleaner can't enter the apartment, the cleaning company will charge extra for the waiting time. Thank you for your understanding.
- No need to vacuum or mop. We’ll take care of it.
- It would be appreciated if you could do the dishes before you leave.
