Welcome to our houseboat 'Drijfpaleis', which means 'floating palace'!

Come and stay in my romantic selfbuilt houseboat in fantasy-Italien style, located in Arnhem. In our Firenze Room, which sleeps two, it always feels like holiday. Enjoy the peace of the streaming water, bread begging ducks and geese, fishing cormorants and sometimes a kingfisher. Passing cruise and cargoboats will rock the boat in a loving pace. 

Houseboat description

Drijfpaleis is situated in the historic city centre of Arnhem, on the river Nederrijn, right at the end of the quay. From the boat it is just a nice stroll along the quay right into citylife with bars, restaurants, cinema's, theaters, musea and shops. Central trainstation and busstation for city and regional busses and taxi's all depart from the same place. It is just a 10 minute walk to the boat. The city of Arnhem is captured between our big rivers and the moraine Veluwe and Betuwe in province Gelderland.

The room

The Firenze Room offers 32m2 of space and is very tastfully decorated and applied with all modern comfort. There's a little kitchen for all to use with seats, a microwave and free coffee and tea. The big terras garden with lots of mozaiek has nice cosy corners to read and relax.

    Wonderful houseboat in Arnhem Show original

    I wanted to give my husband a very special birthday present and hit the bull's eye with the Drijfpalais! The houseboat is simply magical and designed with so much attention to detail. But not only the atmosphere was right. The great location (max. 10 minutes walk to the center), the great breakfast and the friendly and helpful owner Ruud also impressed us and our son. We will be back definitely!

    It's so nice to arrive, turn on the record player, do a bit more knitting, or paint something on the canvas that the host gave us for the reception. The children were also enthusiastic, because it "is not at all like the other hotels, but more like at home!" Breakfast was great, conclusion: you can turn 50 that way!!! Thanks!
