The Pouwel Jonas has been in faithful service since 1897 and was originally used to transport cargo. Skipper Henri and sailor Pascal welcome you with open arms aboard their authentic two-masted topsail clipper. Sail this magnificent ship under their guidance to the most beautiful spots of the Wadden Sea, the IJsselmeer, the Markermeer, and the Frisian lakes. Enjoy the stunning views from the spacious deck.
Sustainability is very important to skipper Henri, so Pouwel Jonas tries to sail as green as possible. On board, you'll find biodegradable toilet paper and cleaning products. To avoid large quantities of plastic bottles, Pouwel Jonas has a water cooler with still, sparkling, and filtered water. In the morning, you'll wake up to the delicious aroma of fair-trade coffee.
The ship is available for charter for day trips and multi-day trips. For day trips, it can accommodate up to 50 people. For multi-day trips, the Pouwel Jonas can sleep up to 32 people.

Pouwel Jonas is the perfect accommodation for an outing with friends, family or colleagues. The ship has been in use for transporting cargo since years ago it was converted into a comfortable charter. The sailing areas of Pouwel Jonas are the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea, the Frisian lakes and the Markermeer.
The two-masted clipper can accommodate 50 people during day trips, and 32 people during multi-day trips. There are nine 2-person cabins, one 4-person cabin and two 5-person cabins. Each cabin has its own sink. The well-equipped kitchen contains an oven, fridge, freezer and 6 gas burners. The ship also has a professional beer tap and music system, everything to make it a pleasant evening.
Does the wind drop for a while? No problem! There are four two-person kayaks on board the Pouwel Jonas, super fun as an activity in between. There is also a surfboard on the sailing ship.

The departure port of Pouwel Jonas is Kampen. Any other departure and arrival ports are possible on request. Depending on the boarding location, the skipper will give you more information about parking facilities and give route instructions.

Henri van Dijk is de eigenaar van twee schepen: de Utopia en de Pouwel Jonas. Zelf vaart hij meestal op de Utopia.
Vooral jeugdgroepen en scholen weten beide ruime en comfortabele schepen te vinden, tot plezier van Henri. "Ik heb veel geduld met ze en ze mogen bijna overal op het schip komen. Als er wat jongeren in de stuurhut willen komen kijken, of aan het roer willen staan, dan zijn ze van harte welkom."
Thuis voelen aan boord
"Ik zorg er graag voor dat mijn gasten zich thuis voelen op het schip. Bovendien vind ik het leuk om te kletsen met mijn gasten." Bijzondere gesprekken heeft hij ook met de leraren tijdens zo'n schoolreis. "Ze staan altijd in direct contact met de volgende generaties en worden gedwongen om daarover na te denken. Ze begeleiden die jongeren voor een wat langere tijd in een belangrijke periode in hun leven. Dat vind ik bijzonder, dus daarover praat ik graag met ze. Zolang ik het schip maar op koers hou, heb ik volop tijd om aandacht te geven aan mijn gasten aan boord."
