Houseboat description
The Phillipa Houseboat has 4 cabins sleeping 8 people and an extra top deck stretcher type beds for kids or those wanting to stargaze their way to sleep. There are a jacuzzi style pool on top deck and a bigger swimming pool below. The houseboat staff comprise of a chef (whether you choose fully catered or self catering), the captain to drive the boat and ensure your safety and a deck hand to service, clean and assist you on your fishing expeditions.
There are fans in all the cabins and 2 bathrooms with shower, basin and toilet. There is on tap reverse osmosis water and an ice machine.
A fully stocked kitchen, a dining table and bar on top deck with plenty of refrigeration.
Solar powered and a generator for electricity.

How to get there
You can get to Kariba by flying into Harare Zimbabwe and either rent a car, arrange a transfer or fly into Kariba. You can find out about flights on Kuva-air's website or contact us for info regarding transfers. It is a 5 hour drive from Harare to Kariba. There are also charter flights available. We can help on booking.
About the area
Kariba is a small town in Zimbabwe. The lake borders Zambia on one side and Zimbabwe on the other. The Matusadona Game Reserve is where you will be mostly passing by, with incredible game viewing from the houseboat. Once you board the boat there is nowhere to stop for supplies so you will load all supplies in the harbour.

The Phillipa is a family Houseboat on Kariba. I grew up going on holiday to this magical place as did my children. I live between Cape Town, Mauritius and Europe now but spent much of my childhood travelling Africa.
