About the area
is a great town just 10 kilometers away from Amsterdam. A few things you can do while in :
VIsit the Muiderslot is a castle in North-Holland , it was built in 1296, restored in 1370 and has been a Rijksmonument since 1878. It has a rich history. There are tours definitely worth checking out.
Amsterdam, of course you have to visit Amsterdam your just 20 minutes away from the city centre. Amsterdam with its beautiful canals and houseboats and of course lots of tourist attractions.
On the Herengracht you can also find the Roman Catholic Saint Nicholas Church from 1822; a design by architect Tieleman Franciscus Suys. Church building and religious community are part of the Living Water parish in Weesp, and Muiderberg.
The Grote- or Sint-Nicolaaskerk is a Gothic building in use by the local Protestant community. The tower is of a late Romanesque style. Every evening at 9 pm the clock in the tower rings; this has been a practice from the time that had city gates.
