Welcome to your stay
The boat is situated in 'Het Meertje', a side-arm of the river Waal (Rhine), together with 10 other boats. The location is on the edge of the Nijmegen city centre and the rural Ooij-polder where you can bike, walk and relax endlessly. Did you know by the way that Nijmegen is the oldest city of the Netherlands and that in 2021 the Roman limes were put on Unesco's World Heritage list? Also in terms of health, green and sustainability, Nijmegen scores internationally very high.

How to get there
Maps suggests that our exact location/address (het Meertje 3) lies a little ahead. It's therefore better/safer to put Ubbergseweg 12 in your navigation.
Number 12 is situated opposite to the entrance path to our boat. The Ubbergseweg is the main road, where you also park the car.
Car parking: tariff in our zone is € 1,60 per hour, Monday till Saturday (9-18 hours). Thursday night (18-21) is late night shopping, also € 1,60 per hour. A day ticket (9-18) costs € 12,50. Sundays are free of charge.
About the area
The Nijmegen region is beautiful and diverse: the city itself is old, with a young vibe, partly because of the presence of the Radboud University. Lots of cultural offers, bars, restaurants, festivals (including De Vierdaagse, world famous walking event in July).
In the region you'll find forests, hills, heath fields, lakes, rivers and streams, beaches, small villages and 'polders'. The German border is about 5 kilometers away; cities like Düsseldorf, Essen, Duisburg and Köln can all be reached within a 2 hours drive.
In the Netherlands, Nijmegen is situated in the eastern part of the country. Together with Arnhem (20 kilometers) Nijmegen forms a city region.
Amsterdam is about 120 kilometers away. By car or train (direct line) reachable in 1,5 hour. Rotterdam is also about 120 kilometers, Utrecht 85, The Hague 135, Eindhoven 80, Maastricht 140, Antwerp 160, Brussels 205.
