Houseboat summary

Welcome to Boat Veinard, a cozy bed and on an authentic freighter in Rotterdam! This refurbished freighter, named the 'Veinard', is moored in the Leuvehaven, in the center of Rotterdam. Located at the end of the dock, the mooring place is quiet and peaceful, yet right in the middle of buzzing Rotterdam!

Houseboat description

On the Veinard we have two appartments for rent. One is located in the deckhouse, on the back of the ship. It is a small, yet very cozy cabin with many windows. The cabin is a very comfortable room for two persons. There is a bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. Also there is an open kitchen where you can always make coffee and/or tea. The room can be heated through central heating, or with an electric heater. There is also a nice terrace where you can enjoy the weather, or even fish!

All the way in the bow of the ship we have another appartment. Here you will find a separate bedroom with a 160 wide bed. this appartment is slightly bigger than the deckhouse, but very different.

How to get there

Boat&Breakfast Veinard is situated on the end of a deadend Quay. named Scheepmakerskade.
the number is 2 J.
You walk all the way till the end where there are some trees and grass where you find the Veinard.
From Central Station it is about 30 minutes walking. You walk to the Leuvehaven initialy and then to Glashaven, from there it is a sidestreet. Scheepmakerskade doesn't look like a real street. You walk along the ships lying there till the end.
You can also go to Blaak station, from there it is about 10 minutes.
You can take the metro and get off at Leuvehaven, or the tram. From Leuvehaven it is sort of just accross the water behind the hotel that you see. But you have to walk around the water to get to Scheepmakerskade, this is about 7 minutes walk. see the map.
you can always take a taxi and tell him to drive to the end of the Scheepmakerskade.

Good Luck.

About the area

This is a really quiet area even though it is in the middle of the city.

The ship is located in the Leuvehaven which is the second oldest harbour. We have the maritime museum here across the water.

This is a really good basis for exploring the city.

    Everything was amazing!

The room in the boat is great, very comfy and it's really exciting (at least to me) to sleep on a boat in the middle of a city like Rotterdam! Our host was not there when we arrived but she made all the necessary so we could have a quiet arrival. It's definitely the quieted place we had a chance to sleep in Rotterdam. And the breakfast was wonderful.

Very cozy. Slightly low ceilings for tall people, but it's a boat :) You have to get used to the noise of the water against the hull of the boat at night. Breakfast delicious!
