Welcome to Boat & Breakfast Veinard, a cozy bed and optional breakfast on an authentic freighter in Rotterdam! This refurbished freighter, named the 'Veinard', is moored in the Leuvehaven, in the center of Rotterdam. Located at the end of the dock, the mooring place is quiet and peaceful, yet right in the middle of buzzing Rotterdam!
On the Veinard we have two appartments for rent. One is located in the deckhouse, on the back of the ship. It is a small, yet very cozy cabin with many windows. The cabin is a very comfortable room for two persons. There is a bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. Also there is an open kitchen where you can always make coffee and/or tea. The room can be heated through central heating, or with an electric heater. There is also a nice terrace where you can enjoy the weather, or even fish!
All the way in the bow of the ship we have another appartment. Here you will find a separate bedroom with a 160 wide bed. this appartment is slightly bigger than the deckhouse, but very different.
If you take the breakfast it will be served in the room at your chosen time! We even supply slippers to keep your feet warm. Are you ready to enjoy an exceptional night aboard the 100 year old Veinard? We hope to welcome you aboard soon!

How to get there
Boat&Breakfast Veinard is situated on the end of a deadend Quay. named Scheepmakerskade.
the number is 2 J.
You walk all the way till the end where there are some trees and grass where you find the Veinard.
From Central Station it is about 30 minutes walking. You walk to the Leuvehaven initialy and then to Glashaven, from there it is a sidestreet. Scheepmakerskade doesn't look like a real street. You walk along the ships lying there till the end.
You can also go to Blaak station, from there it is about 10 minutes.
You can take the metro and get off at Leuvehaven, or the tram. From Leuvehaven it is sort of just accross the water behind the hotel that you see. But you have to walk around the water to get to Scheepmakerskade, this is about 7 minutes walk. see the map.
you can always take a taxi and tell him to drive to the end of the Scheepmakerskade.
About the area
This is a really quiet area even though it is in the middle of the city.
The ship is located in the Leuvehaven which is the second oldest harbour. We have the maritime museum here across the water.
This is a really good basis for exploring the city.

My name is Petra and I have lived on this beautiful ship for 16 years, on the most beautiful spot in Rotterdam. I really enjoy living on the water and share this experience with other people too. Being an artist, I have built the two rooms that I rent out to guests. For me these spaces are like nests in the form of a work of art.
Next to the B & B I follow a training for body-oriented psychotherapy. This is a method of working in which the body and the mind are used together as an input in the research and treatment of existential questions. I also work with the client on the ship.
I enjoy it to welcome all kinds of people on board. So in the middle of the city is a perfect place. All kinds of things happen around you, and yet you do not have to go to them all the time.
Being is enough.
Especially in the sun on deck of the ship.

Everything was amazing!
The room in the boat is great, very comfy and it's really exciting (at least to me) to sleep on a boat in the middle of a city like Rotterdam! Our host was not there when we arrived but she made all the necessary so we could have a quiet arrival. It's definitely the quieted place we had a chance to sleep in Rotterdam. And the breakfast was wonderful.

A really cozy and wonderful place to go if you want to experience a dutch and cool atmosphere. The enviroment is romantic and confortable. The rooms are clean and well furnished. Petra, the renter, is really nice, helpful and welcoming. The boat is located in a really central canal so that it is possible to reach the main city attractions just walking. You can admire the amazing Erasmus bridge just over you and at the same time be cradled by the true essence of the Nedherlands. Everything reminds a dream!

Very cozy Show originalShow original
We stayed three nights on this beautiful houseboat !! We liked it a lot. It was straightforward and very sweet !! The proximity to the city center is unsurpassed and you still have a lot of peace and quiet! Just beautiful! We'll rent the other cabin next time and are already excited. The only thing you have to say is that you shouldn't be taller than 175cm for this room?
