Welcome to your stay

Add something extra to your Rotterdam visit by staying at this traditional and characteristic ship. This way you will experience our harbor city at its best: from the water and with lots of important landmarks within just a few minutes walking distance. The ship itself offers all the privacy you want, and a warm and personal interior. This way we have tried to create a floating 'home away from home' for all our guests. And literally on top of that we offer an amazing roofed terrace!

Explore your stay

  1. You will be staying in a separate part of the ship and you have your own entrance. Inside there are comfortable chairs, central heating, an outside bar and a nice terrace with chesterfield couches. The same level of luxury you might expect in a regular apartment, but then with the charme of a traditional ship. The abundant use of wood and many nautical details will make you feel like a real captain as soon as you set foot aboard.

From the large wheelhouse you have a great view over the harbor. It is just pure fun to stand at the steering wheel, no matter how old you are, your inner child will awake right away! 

Furthermore we offer free wifi, a large flatscreen tv with dvd player and a bathroom with rain shower. The outdoor part is quite something special too. Here you can sit back and relax at the outside bar / lounge terraces. On a nice winterdag but especially during the summer period this is really something that a lot of guests appreciate. 

On request you can order a full breakfast for a very reasonable price, But you are most welcome to organise this yourself. There are bakerys and grosery stores around the corner.

The neighborhood is called "Kop van Zuid' without a doubt one of the most 'Rotterdam like'. The area is known for its rich history, the wonderful and world famous New York hotel and of course the impressive Erasmus Bridge. Within a few minutes walking you will find the buzzing Entrepot Harbor (Entrepothaven), the Luxor Theatre and many great shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturday and Wednesday there is a fantastic local market with 300 market stalls that offer food and non-food from all over the world. 

And just a bit further you will find lots of other great things to see and do. Just some key words to give you an impression: the EuroMast, the Willems Bridge (Willemsbrug), the Cruise Terminal, Phinix Food Factory, Maritime Museum, the Old Harbor (Oude Haven), Cubical Houses (Kubuswoningen), Market Halls (Markthallen) and many, many more things!

Although we do not offer cooking facilities, you can actually cook on the roof terrace. No complete 8-coarse meals, but something simple is no problem at all.

How to get there

There are several good option to go from central station to the Nautilus. 

Tramline 5 direction Carnisselande. 

Or

Tramline 3 direction Beverwaard. 

You get off at tram stop Lodewijk Pincoffsweg
You walk 250 mtr. to the Lodewijk Pincoffsbrug (brug=bridge).
Before you cross the bridge, on your right hand sight you can see the grey Nautilus and the blue Pluvier at 100 mtr. 

The Nautilus is moored oposite housenr. 30 on the J.B.Bakemakade and is next to my other boat the Pluvier. 

From Rotterdam Airport you can take public transport or taxi too. This will take you about 20 minutes.

About the area

De 'Kop van Zuid' is a very lively and attractive part of Rotterdam with a rich naval history. You can enjoy the many old and new bridges, harbors and of course the majestic river Maas. Within walking distance there are many lovely bars, restaurants and shops and there is is good public transport connection to the other parts of town.

A house is just a house, but a boat can take you places and be a very special house at the same time. Those thoughts were born in a few seconds but then it took years of struggle to realize those somewhat naïve but knispering idears.

The boat has a bohemian and unique feel to it ... a place to celebrate life.

I offer my quests a warm welcome and tell you in a few minutes about the boat and about Rotterdam. From there on you can always reach me for questions but you won't see me much so you can enjoy your stay in privacy.

    The perfect base to discover Rotterdam. Ideal for a family with max 2 children. Lovely deck terrace to relax in the evening. Quiet neighborhood where the boat is fairly centrally located. Proper and neat.

    what a great boat - very well appointed and comfortable. The sleeping cabin is large and very well lit. Having a relaxing drink on the poop deck is relaxing and lovely looking over the canal. Highly recommended .
