About the area

The ship is moored in the harbour of the former Rotterdam water company, right next to its monumental watertower. The area is called De Esch, Rotterdam Kralingen. At walking distance (2 minutes) there is a shopping centre with a supermarket, cafe Tomtom and restaurant De Watertoren (in the watertower). The tram to the city centre stops very nearby. You can also take a (very fast) Watertaxi to the city centre, it stops next to the ship.  Also in the area nearby are Erasmus University, business centre Rivium, Arboretum Trompenburg and a nature walking path along the New Meuse. The area De Esch used to be the location where water from the Meuse was filtered and purified for drinking. Around the old industrial buildings a modern residential area was built.

Eric

Hello I’m Eric! I’ve lived in Rotterdam for a long time and I love this harbour city. Just like water, Rotterdam keeps moving and changing. In other words, Rotterdam keeps getting better! I can tell you everything about Rotterdam and its attractions.

I love to travel myself, preferably to harbour places. The liveliness in these harbour towns gives me energy. Travelling has inspired me to start my own bed and breakfast, of course, on a boat.

I own 2 classic boats, that have been renovated in authentic nautical style. While being authentic, the boats also offer modern luxury like nice warm showers, central heating, fully equipped kitchens and comfortable beds.

    Excellent maritime stay!

I spent very cozy Christmas days with my mother and brother on Eric's boat, and it was a perfect place for the few days. The apartment is very well-equipped and has a very nice and 'gezellige' atmosphere. We hope to come back when its a bit warmer and raining less!

Quiet location, cozy stove, delicious! Show original

What a nice gift from the (in-law) parents, 2 nights on the boat (without kids)! We enjoyed the quiet location, the nice trips and the cozy stove.

Thank you for the friendly welcome and the nice tip trips!

You will not find a nicer houseboat in Rotterdam Show original

When reading all the messages in this guest book, the soul of your floating house comes to the fore: In this wonderfully warm place where wind and water splash and creak, you never want to leave the house. Plans to visit the city are quickly put away or stoked in the stove. We have lived here wonderfully, floated around, made love and ate and would love to come back. You can be proud; you have turned an old ferry into a place where people feel at home. We felt that too. Thank you!

This houseboat is a real beauty

When I was looking for hotels in Rotterdam I was not happy with what I found - until I found the boats. What a fantastic idea to let people stay in a boat. And this one is really a beauty. Very nicely renovated & decorated, to also maintain the style of the boat, simply great. It is a bit unusual to slep on a boat, but be enjoyed our stay. It was very short, but as we live in The Hague, we can come back easily, if we need a change. Thanks Eric, for the possibility to spend the weekend on your boat !

Best wishes, Harry, Julia, Fabian and Anke

A pearl on the Maas! Show original

First of all, thank you for your hospitality and the fantastic stay over the past 4 days. What a wonderful ship and a relaxing location. My 43rd birthday was a success because of that alone! Compliments for the atmosphere and character that you have given back to the Logeerboot. You have built a ship into a historic monument and a liveable residence with the typical maritime character. We will be back soon, because as a Rotterdammer I can rightly confess: You have a pearl on the Maas!
