Less than a 2 hour drive from London, lies on the beautiful Kennet and Avon Canal the charming canalboat Medusa. Whether you are a couple, family or small group of people; Medusa is the perfect sized boat where you will feel right at home.
Medusa is fitted to a very high standard with several luxuries including a cosy wood burning stove and all the conveniences that you would find at home.
Houseboat description
Sleeping up to 8 people, Medusa has all the amenities you could wish for. The living room comprises of a king sofa-bed and the middle bedroom has two sets of single beds which can sleep up to four individuals. The master bedroom has a king size bed with generous storage and vanity desk.
Medusa has a fully equipped kitchen including a gas cooker, oven, grill, utensils, crockery. a fridge/freezer, and a microwave. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and even a Jacuzzi Whirlpool bath!
Due to Medusa being just 55' in length, she is a joy to manouver and is perfect if you're taking your first canal boat holiday. Not that experienced? Then you don’t need to worry, Moonraker canalboats are here to help you. They will make sure that you are comfortable navigating and offer steering and manoeuvring details, as well as safety tips. Medusa is set in one of the most beautiful areas of Wiltshire, with gorgeous surroundings.
You can go walking, cycling or even horse riding in the beautiful surroundings of The Pewsey Vale. Alton Barnes White Horse is just a short walk from our base and can be easily viewed as you wind your way through this stunning landscape in rural Wiltshire. Crop circles often 'appear' in the surrounding fields, attracting people from all over the world.
Other tourist attractions nearby are Crofton Pumping Station, which is renowned for the oldest working beam engine in the world; Bruce Tunnel is a marvellous architectural site with a length of 459 meters long; Canal Museum at Devizes is the perfect place to shop for local delicacies; Caen Hill Locks rises 237 feet over a distance of 2 miles, with a main ‘staircase’ made from 16 locks and another 13 that lead up to the main flight, so challenge yourself in conquering the locks; Stonehenge & Avebury is a well known enigmatic site that doesn’t need an introduction or visit The Roman cities of Bath and Bradford-on-Avon which are enchanting areas that still have that 17th century charm.
Beside these beautiful sites, the area offers many restaurants and pubs so you can enjoy the local cuisine and culture.
