Sybaris is a unique historic sailing ship that you can sail with skipper Richard on the Wadden Sea, the IJsselmeer or the Frisian lakes.
The ship is suitable for groups of up to 45 people for day trips and 26 for multi-day trips. Together with your group you will admire all the beauty that the Dutch waters have to offer.

Sailing ship description
Sybaris is a two-masted clipper from the year 1894 and started as a sailing cargo ship and was converted into a charter ship in the 1990s. During the last renovation, the ship has been converted to an unusually comfortable layout below deck. Each sleeping cabin has its own toilet & shower cabin and cupboard space.
Due to the handy layout with folding beds, the 7 cabins can be converted into spacious double cabins. This way you can stay very comfortably with a group of 14 people.
Skipper Richard sails with you and your group. If you feel like taking over the helm, you can always do so with the guidance of Richard! If you need more relaxation, there is plenty of space on deck to enjoy the sun and the sound of the waves. Below deck there is enough space to prepare a delicious meal in the galley. You can also sit at the bar and there is a cupboard full of games to play or you can make music on the real ship's piano!

How to get there
In consultation with the skipper, you can agree where you want to board. Both the harbor in Enkhuizen and the harbor in Rotterdam are easily accessible by car and the train station is also very close.
About the area
Sybaris sails on the IJsselmeer, the beautiful Wadden Sea and the Frisian lakes. Skipper Richard sails along all the pleasant harbors on the IJsselmeer. On the Wadden Sea you can enjoy the tranquility and the endless horizon with waves that glisten from the radiant sun. The Frisian Lakes is a more touristic area that attracts many water sports enthusiasts, especially in summer.

“Passie en gedrevenheid, dat vind ik mooie woorden waardoor ik me graag laat leiden. Het varen, het zeilen zit in mijn DNA. Als klein jongetje voer ik al met mijn ouders op de Rotte bij Rotterdam. Later leerde ik zeilen bij de scouting. En weer later monsterde ik voorzichtig als matroos aan op een bruine-vlootschip. Het lijkt alsof het allemaal vanzelf zo ging, alsof ik nooit bewust voor het beroep van schipper heb gekozen. En misschien is dat ook wel zo. Als schipper en eigenaar van de Sybaris geniet ik dagelijks van mijn passie. Mijn drijfveer is nu om mijn enthousiasme voor het water, de wind en het varen over te brengen op mijn gasten.
