About the area
The sailing area of the Passaat consists of the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea. The IJsselmeer is the largest freshwater lake in the Netherlands and a popular spot for sailors. The Wadden Sea is located between the North Sea and the Wadden Islands in the north and the mainland of the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark in the south. The water of the sea is relatively warm. As a result, many species of plants and animals live in the Waddenzee.
