No better place to stay in Rotterdam than this houseboat apartment with large wheelhouse. Get aboard and take place behind the steering wheel - you will feel like a true captain right away! You will sleep in charming and cosy original bedsteads. Located in the city centre, near many great things to see and do.

Explore your stay

The Captain's Apartment is a truly unique accommodation where you will feel like a real captain as soon as you enter the place. With a wonderful panoramic view over the harbor and large steering wheel this will really add something to your stay. In the warmly decorated wheelhouse there is a small kitchenette with sink, fridge, induction hob, oven, coffee and tea facilities, as well as a table with sofa to enjoy breakfast, wining and dining. This part has comfortable central heating, so you will be comfortably warm even during the coldest winter days. And last but not least, here you will find the real captains chair. Yes, the ship is still sailing, however we kindly ask you to leave her docked where she is ;-)

The bathroom - small but convenient - with can be reached from one side of the wheelhouse (please note that if you're having issues using steep stairs, this might not be the best apartment for you).

On the other side of the wheelhouse there is a stairway that leads to the very nicely decorated living room with original timber work and 2 very charming two-person bedsteads. The floor has a nice herringbone pattern and the bedsteads can be closed with two charming shutters. Making this apartment suitable for up to 4 guests.

On this houseboat is another apartment available: the Ship's Hold Apartment with a total of 7 beds. This place can be rented apart or together with the Captain's Apartment. So we can accommodate up to a total of 11 persons if required.

The double beds are located in the cozy original bedsteads. The bathroom can be reached from the wheelhouse and is not huge. To get into the bathroom you use a small stairway. Keep in mind that therefore this apartment might not be suitable for those who have problems using steep stairs. Otherwise it is part of the real houseboat experience.

How to get there

From Rotterdam Central Station you can just take the Metro and within 10 minutes you are at the houseboat.

From Rotterdam Blaak train station, located next to the Markthal and Cubic houses, it's only 5 minutes (0.5 km) on foot to the ship.

From Rotterdam Airport it takes only 35 minutes by public transport to reach the houseboat.

About the area

The houseboat is docked in a city centre harbor, close to many must-sees and -do's. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the immediate surroundings and public transport, both over land and water (water taxi!) to take you to all the corners of the city.

    Very nice accommodation in a top location, absolutely central but still very quiet. And a very lovely hostess who had already taken care of everything. We also really appreciated the discretion on board, but Monique is always available in the background and responds immediately. Thank you very much, our stay was a great pleasure!

    Thinking of which boathouse to choose... think no more!!

     The Captains Cabin, situated in vibrant Rotterdam - is only a skip and a hop to the centre !!! Our stay was a brilliant experience.. the boat itself has all the comodetiesthat you could wish.. and the owner! - well what can I say! -what a lovey lady!! Monique is a fantastic host,  apart from all of that - If you are looking for value for money them Monique's place - the Captain Cabin is the place to be!!! Thanks a bunch Monique - hope to see you soon in the very near future!!!

    We spent 3 days on the boat with 4 adults (who know each other well) during a very rainy weekend: it was all good, small but nice, clean. A base in the heart of Rotterdam from which to (re) discover this fantastic city. You do need to be reasonably agile to use the small bathroom. Sympathetic reception by Monique. Worth repeating.

    Centrally located and spacious houseboat!

    What a great experience! The houseboat is central to everything with ample on street parking (also close to the train station). Each bedroom has an ensuite shower. We were surprised by how spacious the space was. Very little movement for those who get motion sickness. We would definitely stay here again!

    Great little apartment, right in the heart of the city, close to all you need. Looks original and authentic. Only wish we didn't take so much luggage! Host Monique attended to an unforeseen issue promptly and made for a very pleasant stay.
