    Great House boat

We spent 5 days in Amsterdam recently to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and this was the perfect base. Lovely setting and central with everything in walking distance. The host Susan could not do enough for us, lovely breakfasts, and the room was immaculate. Highly recommend.

Houseboat rembrandt suite 1st sept to 5th sept 2023

We had a fabulous stay. Susan was an excellent host and made us very welcome. Before we arrived she sent lots of advice on how to get to the houseboat and there was also a helpful Youtube intro to the room explaining how every thing worked and how to get in. The accommodation is comfortable and exactly as described. Despite it's central location it is quiet at night and really is a good base to explore from. You can walk to the museums or central station area within 30 minutes. Anne Frank house is about 10 minutes walk away.

On Susan's recommendation we went to Mondi (short taxi ride away) and Divan (which is a minute walk away) and had great meals and can also recommend an Italian called Bussia (5 minutes walk away). I'm sure her other recommendations will have been as good. Being on a canal you do get a fair number of boats passing during the day but as we were out this did not concern us. We went on a canal trip with Captain Dave who sets off 2 minutes up the road from the houseboat and was good value. So a really good position to visit Amsterdam from!

The BEST way to stay in Amsterdam!

One of the highlights of our week in Amsterdam was staying in Susan's houseboat. On top of the stunning views every morning of the canal, the beautiful houses along Prinsengracht, swans and coots gliding by (and sometimes up to the windows of our room!) on the water, and the cheerful rhythm of boat engines as canal tours streamed past in the late morning, Susan is a gracious host and AMAZING cook.

It is absolutely essential to spring for the extra cost of breakfast every morning of your stay. Susan made us feel at home and always welcome on her floating home and we will never forget our stay with her. Come for the Rembrandt, cathedrals, and canals, but stay for Susan's homemade breakfasts and her beautiful cozy home away from home.

Staying in your houseboat was a great experience!! We will keep a beautiful memory of it! However, with one small downside... The accommodation is a little too cramped and it only offers the possibility of having breakfast... The accommodation was very clean, the key box easy to access, Brian charming! Thank you for everything! Kind regards, Mr. Dubien

    Nice place!

Bryan, the host was great, very accommodating and great communication! The room was the perfect size and a very clean, safe place to stay. We were there over a weekend, and the bar on the corner got pretty noisy late Friday and Saturday night… the rest of the nights, you could hear a pin drop! There’s a grocery store close by for drinks/snacks, and the general location is great. Make sure you wave to the tourist boats as they float by! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, and we do recommend his rentals.
