Holiday Houseboat in Amsterdam city centre (floor heating)
During my own holiday, I love to share my houseboat with you - located in the city centre!
- Warm and cozy houseboat
- Located between the city centre and Pijp area
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Charming and quiet canal - no loud tourist area
- Lots of comfort and a personal interior design
As a Dutchman, a really love 'coziness' and this shows in the interior design of my houseboat, docked in a charming city centre canal. The famous Pijp Area is located just a stone's throw away the if you walk the other side, you are ready to explore the city centre right away. Although the action is around the corner, I can guarantee that our canal is a well hidden and quiet gem.
NOTE: NO DRUGS OR SMOKING OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED IN OR ON THE BOAT.
In case we notice that this rule is not respected, we kindly but urgently ask you to leave, without any refund.
As you can see on the photo's I truly like the use of natural materials inside. This creates a warm and personal atmosphere, while the large ceiling windows let in lots of daylight. On one side of the ship you can still see the steel hull of the ship, adding just that little extra nautical feeling to your stay. But the most 'shiplike' space is without a doubt the cool wheelhouse from where you have a wonderful panoramic view over the water and houses around you. In front of the wheelhouse you can enjoy sitting on the small but convenient deck terrace.
Don't be afraid for cold feet when booking this Amsterdam city centre Houseboat. There is floor heating all through the ship, and a wonderful art deco wood stove burner can add just that little natural warmth that makes every winter night a special event.
You have access to the open and fully equipped kitchen. At least, if you don't want to go out and enjoy the many amazing restaurants and bars within walking distance. Furthermore there are lots of trams and busses within a few minutes walking, taking you to every corner of the city within half an hour.
The large and comfortable double bed is located at the far end of the hull. The stylish bathroom you will find conveniently located next to the bed, and offers a comfortable shower, sink and toilet.
I hope to have given you the best possible impression and look forward to hear if you have any questions. Always glad to help!

How to get there
It could not be easier to reach our houseboat. Just hop on the tram from Central Station and within 10 minutes you are less than 1 minute walking from your private houseboat studio!
About the area
Your houseboat is docked right between the Pijp Area and the city centre. Although the ship is docked on a very nice and quiet piece of the Lijnbaansgracht, you will be in the buzzing area within minutes walking. Not only the Heineken Experience and the Pijp Area are around the corner, but also the Vondelpark, Museum Square (Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Museum of Contemporary Arts) and the Sarphatipark are within walking distance. Over-all I think it's hard to find a better place to start your discovery of Amsterdam!
Finally my dream has come true: being a houseboater in Amsterdam. Living here feels like a real privilege and I love to share this experience with you!

Our houseboat stay, in Amsterdam
Nick and I had the pleasure of spending some of our time, while in Amsterdam, living on the most perfect houseboat. It's bohemian style, not only met all our needs but it's exotic atmosphere enhanced our stay, immeasurably. We feel so incredibly fortunate to have had this opportunity. Thank you all, who made this work for us. Bobbi Ercoline

Amsterdam stay 15-09-19 to 20-09-19
Our stay on the Holiday houseboat was thoroughly enjoyable. The location was wonderful; we were within 20 minutes walk of the museums, the Rokin area, great shops and restaurants, and an Aldi market across the street. Access to public transit was just down the street.
As far as accommodations, the houseboat was cozy and comfortable. We were provided with everything we needed to prepare meals if we wanted; along with coffee and tea for the morning. Having the use of a washer and dryer was great for us, as we typically pack half the clothes for our length of travel, and this allowed us to wash our clothes on the last night for the rest of our travels. The boat did appear to need some repairs to the interior, but it was nothing that detracted from our stay.
Daniel was responsive ahead of time, and his directions for accessing the boat were easily understood and accurate. I will say that it took a little bit of caution to walk along with the boat to the entrance. We did not have a problem, but just be mindful that if you do not have your equilibrium (i.e., not sober), you will need to be careful between the walkway and the entrance door.
Overall, we enjoyed staying in this houseboat and would do so again for our next visit to Amsterdam.

A truly wonderful place to stay
We were so lucky to have found this houseboat with it's cozy homely style! Being a stone's throw away from many attractions such as the Heineken experience it was really a perfect location. Walking into the centre was easy with many interesting shops along the way. Our lovely host Daniel was very accommodating answering to all our needs. We cannot recommend this beautiful house enough and would love to come back, thanks for having us!

A most lovable houseboat-away-from-home
We have been so fortunate to stay with Daniel during the winter period and although it was quite cold outside, the atmosphere was very warm inside. We especially loved the way the interior was designed with lots of personal detail - so not a 'Ikea home' so to speak. The location could not be better: very close to the Heineken Experience, the inner city and with superb public transport connections. The canal is surprisingly quiet and the neighborhood is laid back. You don't have the feeling to be right in the centre of Amsterdam, but you are! Thanks for having us.
